Dancer
Cayla Jenece Williams is a dancer from District Heights, Maryland. She is a sophomore at Bishop McNamara High School located in Forestville, Maryland. Upon graduation, she would like to attend college to pursue a degree in Nursing and minor in Dance. With a degree in Dance she would like to become a professional choreographer, dancer and have the opportunity to open her own dance studio. Cayla is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, musical theatre, acro, african, and hip hop.

Cayla has been dancing for 9 years now and is still developing as a performer and artist. She has trained locally under the former Natalie Stewart (Creative Academy For Performing Arts), Dakiya Lambert (Dance Dimensions), Nicole Klett (Capitol Movement Inc.), and Mone’t Landis (ZD Dance Academy). She also trained several summers at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy with Eartha Robinson in Atlanta, and at the New York and Los Angeles campuses of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

Cayla is very involved in the performing arts program at her high school. She has been a member of the Bishop McNamara Dance Team from 2017-2019. In April 2018, Cayla had to honor of playing the lead role of “Shug Avery” in the BMHS Sankofa production of ​Violet​, the story of “The Color Purple”, directed by Victor Bah. Along with being an active performer at her high school, she has had the opportunity to attend different dance festivals, competitions, and workshops through her school such as the National High School Dance Festival, Mid-Atlantic Pom and Dance Association, and the Universal Dance Association to name a few.

Throughout her dance career, Cayla has received special honors and awards at various competitions. During her competition seasons, she continuously places in top categories and receives class call-outs in her convention classes. Recently, she was recognized for her self-choreographed and self-performed solo, “For All We Know” (The True Artistry Award, Showstopper All Star). Cayla has received scholarships and monetary awards from AMDA, Jump Dance Convention, Nuvo Dance Convention, Revel Dance Convention, StarQuest Dance Competition, and Starpower Dance Competition. Miss. Williams currently holds the title for Senior Miss Starquest for 2019 and is a Sr. Elite Ambassador for SQ Designs Costumes. Cayla has been featured in a music video, “ Ain’t 4 Me” by Eli ft. Lil Key.
