Allison Balanc is a Neo-Soul singer, songwriter, creative director and choral instructor born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area. Creating music has always played a major role in her self-expression. Classically trained through choral programs, she has lent her talent to multiple local artists’ projects. In 2007, Allison was signed to the Grammy award-winning label Compound Entertainment; after winning “Neyo’s Talent Search”. Then again in 2012, the songstress caught the ear of entertainment manager, William “Malachai” Johns (former manager of David Correy and Mumbo Sauce). She then won the “Are You the Lipstick Talent Search”.
Allison released her first solo album, “Lost and Found”, in 2017. Allison performed her first live debut of the project at the W Hotel DC’s POV Live concert series. Her performance became the highest grossing in the series and her company, Allison Balanc Productions, LLC began an ongoing relationship with the venue. During the same year she also began working as a choral instructor with The Musicianship; a non-profit organization that brings music programs into inner city schools.
She draws inspiration from Jazz, Soul, early 90s Hip-Hop and R&B. Allison believes in the deep impact that musical entertainment provides and works meticulously to develop a unique blend of sounds that is not only cathartic for her, but more importantly meaningful, empathetic and enjoyable for listeners.
Allison strives to utilize her blessings, work ethic, and artistry to innovate, nurture and inspire. The positive cycle shared from creator to listener is what pushes her to keep creating and doing what she loves.
